Modular + Customization = Luxury Homes
Working with SmartPads, you have the opportunity to customize both the inside and outside of your home to your personal design preferences and living goals. You will work with your SmartPads designer to customize all of your finishes from the ceiling to the floor. Lighting, cabinetry, tile and flooring are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the finishes you will be able to customize. If you can dream it, we can make it happen. This is just one of the reasons we are known as the ultimate luxury custom home builder in Colorado.
Customizing the Interior of Your Home
You will work with your designer to pick colors and finishes that meet your design goals. From Modern and Minimalist to Color Drenching Maximalism and Custom Trim Packages, you and your designer will create a space that reflects the people who will live in the home. Pops of color in cabinetry, especially greens and blues, remain a big trend, while icy white and cool gray cabinets are receding to dusty cream, beige and natural wood tones. The clean lines of contemporary finishes are being combined with more classic elements, allowing for family heirlooms and antique treasures to be easily incorporated into a contemporary design. Our homes start with a contemporary design that lends itself to a neutral and minimal aesthetic, but you can work with your designer to incorporate custom woodwork detailing, wood cladding, faux beams, metal accents, and other details that will give your home a sense of style that is unique to you. By working closely with our clients, we create a house that will be filled with the items that will make it a home.

Build Your Dream Home, but Keep Resale in Mind
When you build your SmartPads home, you can be confident in the quality of the construction and materials used. While important, resale value will be only one of the many factors you will consider as you are designing your home. When considering resale value, the most important thing to consider is how your build will compare to the surrounding houses as these will ultimately determine the value. Select finishes and upgrades that are in line with the homes nearby, so you stay in line with the overall marketplace.
Tips for customizing the interior of your home
- Determine your budget early and understand what is realistic to accomplish within it. Constraints can facilitate the decision-making process by identifying priorities as pricing is determined. When making decisions that could push you over that budget, it creates a sense of confidence in the decision as you have analyzed it and still hit the go button. Your designer will work with you to manage your budget, ensuring that you will be comfortable with and informed of the final cost of your new build.
- A house will grow and change with the family living in it and in most cases your day one new build is a canvas for you to keep adding to. In making customization decisions consider how hard it is to add the detail later, and at what additional expense.
- The trend cycle is getting shorter and shorter. Design your home for you and fill it with finishes that you love. Once upon a time, back in the 90's, the Tuscan style was the epitome of classic and timeless. Nothing is forever. Knowing this can take pressure off of the decision-making process.
- When considering your appliances, consider the features you will use, your budget, and aesthetics. While 5 appliance packages seem standard, you can mix and match across brands to meet your specific needs. Cafe appliances and KitchenAid appliances are both fabulous options that will meet the needs of even the most serious home chefs!
- There are many flooring options available, but LVP and Engineered Hardwood are the most common used in our custom modular homes. LVP (Luxury Vinyl Plank) offers a waterproof and durable finish that will stand up to kids, dogs, and mountain living. Engineered hardwood is durable and can be refinished in the future should you want to update the look of the house or repair any signs of wear that can occur over the life of the home. Both are great options that have different strengths. CoreTec LVP offers a wide variety of styles and is installed regularly in luxury homes in the mountains because of its waterproof qualities and low maintenance. AndersonTufttex offers many types of wood species and finishes for those who want to upgrade to engineered hardwood.
- Get inspiration from Houzz and Pinterest, but once you've made a decision stop looking! It is easy to second guess yourself when you continue to find fabulous inspiration. Your first instinct is usually what you want, trust yourself.
