The SmartPads Annual Summer Volunteer Day
Team SmartPads dove into our Annual Summer Volunteer Day earlier this summer. This year, we dedicated our efforts to tidying up the grounds at Uintah Basin Care Center, a local retirement home that needed some helping hands.Since the COVID-19 pandemic, the center has faced numerous challenges. With a decline in resident numbers and a tightening budget, resources have become limited, making it difficult to maintain the beautiful outdoor spaces that residents once enjoyed. Government and private funding have kept the center running, but non-essential tasks like landscaping often fall to the bottom of the list.
Supporting the Vernal, Utah community
Recognizing this need, our team spent four hours transforming the interior courtyards and exterior grounds. The courtyards, which had become overgrown and unusable, were given a thorough cleanup. We also spruced up the exterior grounds, making the entire facility more inviting and enjoyable for the residents.
Company Values and Staff Engagement
We believe in the power of giving back and how that can unite a team. We wound down the day with an informal company all-hands meeting, followed by a casual barbecue. It’s easy to get caught up in the day-to-day work, but we believe it’s important to step back and look outside our normal routines. Our Annual Summer Volunteer Day is an important tradition for all of us at SmartPads.
