2025 is starting off with a variety of unique prefab home projects in different stages of the custom home building process. The Fairview Shines Again – Steamboat Springs, CO
This stunning home, based on our most popular Fairview design, will soon grace the Moonhill Meadows neighborhood just north of Steamboat Springs. Originally planned as a second home for a Denver-based family, it may eventually become their primary residence. The 3-bedroom, 2.5-bath home spans four modules with a site-built garage by Crafted Structures.The Fairview is one of our most popular designs, and this project features a farmhouse-inspired interior, complete with:
- A copper hood cover for a timeless kitchen centerpiece.
- A shiplap wall treatment to add warmth and texture.
Adjusting for HOA Requirements – Basalt, CO
This 2,000-square-foot 3 bedroom, 2 bath spec home demonstrates our adaptability in meeting HOA and regional requirements. From roof pitch adjustments to height restrictions, we worked closely with the HOA to create a design that blends seamlessly with the neighborhood while maximizing efficiency and style and creating a home with strong resale value. Located in Basalt, Colorado, right between Carbondale and Aspen, this home will have outstanding resale value in addition to being a stunning home to set down roots in a gorgeous part of Colorado. Key features include:
- 3 bedrooms plus an office module above the carport.
- Vaulted ceilings in the living room, achieved through creative on-site construction.
- A cozy wood-burning stove for ambiance and warmth.
- Bonus amenities like a butler’s pantry and soaking tub.

A family’s Big Move – Whitefish, MT
Following a bold relocation from Minneapolis, this family is building a custom Skyview design in downtown Whitefish. This 4-bedroom, 3.5-bath home includes a site-built ADU (1-bedroom, 1-bath) connected to the main house by a rooftop deck.Notable features:
- Custom bathrooms designed by each of their daughters.
- Lunawood siding—a thermally modified material new to SmartPads.
- Warmboard radiant heating for comfort in Montana winters.
Due to site limitations, we overcame crane access challenges with creative solutions, highlighting the flexibility of prefab construction.
Taking Custom to the Next Level – Ophir, CO
This project right outside of Telluride, Colorado is one of our most custom builds to date and the first home to be set in 2025. This 3-bedroom, 3.5-bath home includes:
- A floating glass staircase for a modern touch.
- Thurston cabinetry, hand-selected slabs of stone for the kitchen, and accommodations for a future dumbwaiter.
- Warmboard radiant heat for energy-efficient comfort.
With a site-built garage and premium finishes, this home sets a new standard for customization.
Views for Miles – Steamboat Springs, CO
While still in the concept stage, this project promises to be a breathtaking 3,367-square-foot home in a stunning location near Stagecoach Lake State Park.
