Steamboat 2

A smaller mountain home that makes the most of its setting through smart design and highly intentional details.

Built in Rabbit Ears Village beyond Rabbit Ears Pass, this home was designed as a mountain retreat for a Front Range family looking for a quieter and more remote escape. Based on a modified Snowtrace layout, the home focuses on simplicity, functionality, and making the most of an incredible lot and surrounding views.

Living in a more remote setting shaped many of the design decisions. A large pantry, thoughtful storage, and even a built-in trash compactor were included to support the realities of life far from everyday services and grocery runs. A tucked-under garage and unfinished lower level also create flexibility for the home to evolve over time as the family continues to use and shape the space.

Why Modular

Less Waiting

Traditional home builds can take two years or more. With SmartPads, your home is built while your site is being prepared, allowing both processes to happen at the same time.

Factory-Precise

Every SmartPads home is constructed in a controlled factory environment, protected from weather delays and changing site conditions. This approach allows for greater consistency and quality control.

Fixed Pricing

One of the biggest challenges in traditional construction is uncertainty. With SmartPads, your home price is established before construction begins. While changes you make along the way can affect the final cost, our process is designed to provide greater transparency.
